Cardinal

Tweet of the Day: Cardinal….this one is for you Jacquie …Jim's favourite bird. We don't have them over here in the UK…but if we did it would be my favourite too. Wonderful colours red and black..
I remember the first time I saw one..it was at a golf club breakfast in Hilton Head Island with one of my favourite illustrators Jo D'Mers and painter John Stobard….after tucking into a king sized breakfast I suddenly look up as something had caught my eye…and there on the veranda was this wonderful red and black bird with the sun light spotlighting him like he was "on stage". It was the first time I had seen one…great memory..

Long Tailed Tit

Tweet of the Day: Long Tailed Tit….A lot of these about this morning,  mostly on the nuts….they're nuts about the nuts ….they get up early to get to them before the squirrels do….they wait for a squirrel to fall off the feeder and nip in for a hearty  breakfast before he has time to climb the tree again….really fast food outlet ..

Very Red Bunting

I don't think Buntings are really this red…but it looked so good against the snow…I left it as it was…I also don't know how all this snow car to be here in Mid Spring…art is certainly weird at times.. anyway todays "Tweet 0f the Day" is the Red Bunting sometimes seen on our feeding tree …wonderful to see the flash of red in all the green of the trees  6 x 6 inches acrylic on board and only £50

Robin in the Snow

Tweet-of-the -day another robin…but you can't have too many robins can you…here is one that wasn't in the snow when I started it….but I was trying to lighten the background ….suddenly all this snow appeared ….but I like him….I looks as if has been eating too many red berries and can't fly off the branch..with that leaning backwards….

Bluetit

This is becoming "tweet-of-the-day" painting…….. todays effort is a Blue tit,  frequent visitor is our hanging tree …so many bird-related items hanging there that is looking more like a "shrine" than a bird feeding area.

Nuthatch

More birds..I can't stop painting them… they are perfect for the small 6 x 8 inch formulae. I do seem to be hooked on them at the moment …I wonder how many you have to paint to become a "Bird Artist"

This daily painting is harder than it first seemed….But I think I am beginning to enjoy it…it's quite a challenge…This candle has been hanging around my studio since last Christmas …it was the light from my small studio window just caught it leaving that delicious shadow….a very enjoyable morning!

CATS exhibition

I have been asked to have a sudden art exhibition of my CATS it was sett up rather quickly as some hd let the gallery down and they asked me to fill.
